Pathankot: In the early hours of Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) forces foiled an infiltration attempt across the India-Pakistan border by fatally shooting a Pakistani infiltrator in the Pathankot area of Punjab.
At around 12:30 a.m., the BSF reported noticing suspicious activity along the border security fence along the international border near the bordering Simbal Sakol hamlet in the Pathankot District.
In response, the troops took up positions immediately. As the invaders approached the border barrier, BSF personnel opened fire in self-defense, culminating in the intruder’s capture.
BSF Punjab Frontier also took to Twitter (now known as X) and shared an image of a Pakistani intruder with the caption, “Pakistani Infiltartor neutralised #AlertBSF tps observed suspicious movement of a Pakistani infiltrator near Vil-Simbal Sakol,#Pathankot.” The infiltrator was continuously challenged and then neutralised in self-defense to avoid immediate harm.”
According to a statement published by the BSF, Punjab Frontier, despite repeated warnings, the intruder continued to advance towards the boundary wall, causing the BSF to intervene.
Meanwhile, earlier on August 11, the BSF reported witnessing some suspicious activity near the border security fence on the international boundary and opened fire on the intruders as they proceeded to approach the border wire.
In May of this month, the BSF apprehended a Pakistani man near the International Border in Punjab, while shooting two unnamed Pakistani invaders who had invaded Indian territory and discovering three sacks of suspected contraband merchandise.
