Himachal Pradesh accident: Six police officers from the 2nd IRB stationed at the Chamba Border area were killed and several others were badly injured in a horrific accident on the Bairgarh-Tissa road in district Chamba.
The event occurred near Tarwai bridge on the Tissa-Bairagarh-Pangi route after a landslip damaged the SUV, causing it to become unstable and skid into the Siul river in Chamba.
According to authorities, 11 persons were onboard the SUV and were on their way to perform patrol duties when it was involved in an accident.
The victims have been identified as follows:

Aside from the aforementioned, one local inhabitant, Chandru Ram S/o Jai Dyal, was also killed.
The whole Police Department expressed their grief over the occurrence, praying for the serenity of the departed souls and for the strength of their families to bear this tragic loss.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his condolences for the tragic tragedy in Chamba and demanded that immediate ex-gratia be paid to the deceased’s next of kin.
Yellow alert issued in Himachal Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rainfall and thunder in areas of Himachal Pradesh.
Over the next three hours, mild to moderate rainfall is anticipated in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Chamba, and Una. Furthermore, heavy rain is forecast in one or two locations in Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, Kangra, and Mandi.
Due to the recent rainfall, around 242 roads, including two national highways, were closed in Himachal Pradesh.
