Lok Sabha Polls 2024: The agenda, timetable, and logo for the third INDIA meeting have all been finalised

The third INDIA meeting in Mumbai is expected to attract 28 parties

Lok Sabha Polls 2024: As the country prepares for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, all eyes are on the third INDIA meeting, which is set to take place today in Mumbai, picking up where the party left off in their previous huddle in Bengaluru and carrying forward the process of laying a broader roadmap against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre.

The major goal and topic of discussion for INDIA members will be the battle plan and blueprint for the future Lok Sabha elections in 2024, as well as the seat-sharing formula, but the party will also unveil the logo and schedule during the two-day conference.

The meeting held today will be followed by a formal meeting scheduled for September 1.

The parties have banded together to oppose PM Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and prevent it from securing a third consecutive term at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar convened the inaugural meeting of the Opposition bloc; the third meeting is being organised by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Opposition alliance in Maharashtra comprised of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Sharad Pawar.

This will be the first meeting of the Opposition alliance in a state in which none of the INDIA partners is in power. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes the Shiv Sena, the BJP, and the opposing NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar, presently rules Maharashtra.

Among those expected to attend the two-day summit are National President Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, had previously confirmed his attendance at the conference.

The unified opposition met for the first time on June 23 in Patna, and the second time on July 17-18 in Bengaluru. The third meeting is scheduled for August 31-September 1 in Mumbai.
