ED raids Bharat Bhushan Ashu: The Enforcement Directorate raided the premises of former Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu in Ludhiana on Thursday in connection with a Money Laundering investigation.
According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on more than ten places in Ludhiana and Nawanshehr this morning under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The ED investigation and searches are linked to allegations of irregularities and the acceptance of kickbacks through intermediaries in order to undermine the quality and conditions of food procurement and transportation tenders.
The ED also searched and investigated the homes and offices of Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s close associates, including numerous members of the Food and Supplies Department, ex-Congress Councillor Sunny Bhalla, Ashu’s PA PA Inderjit Indi, and former LIT chairman RamanSubramanium.
Heavy police forces have also been deployed outside the ex-minister’s residence, and the entire neighbourhood has been sealed off.
