Chandigarh, August 9: A horrible tragedy unfolded live on video near Chaila in Shimla district on August 9, resulting in the unfortunate loss of two people. A local journalist filmed the incident during a live Facebook broadcast.
A speeding truck filled with apples collided with many vehicles in the accident. The impact of the accident was captured on camera, providing a striking depiction of the severity of the crash. The victims were identified as a Jubbal couple.
On Tuesday evening, a truck from Narkanda its way to sites outside the state was inadvertently routed to Chaila market rather than the intended Sainj-Rajgarh road. The truck lost control, crashed with four other vehicles, rolled over, and cruelly crushed the couple.
The collision has been blamed on brake failure, according to authorities. The victims were extricated using an excavator and taken to Theog’s Civil Hospital for post-mortem investigation. A police inquiry has been launched, and further details are being sought.
